Welcome to Note Counter Pro ("we", "us", or "our"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our mobile application Note Counter Pro (the "App").
By downloading, installing, and using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. Please read it carefully.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
The App allows you to enter and manage the following types of data locally on your device:
- Note counting entries: denominations, totals, and timestamps of your cash counting sessions.
- Customer information (Khata): customer name, contact number, and transaction history for billing/credit tracking.
- Billing records: invoice details, amounts, dates, and customer associations.
- App settings: preferred currency, language (English/Bengali/Hindi), theme (dark/light), and other preferences.
This data is stored locally on your device using device storage. It is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly use the optional Google Drive backup feature.
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
- Device information: device model, OS version, screen size, and unique device identifiers (used solely for ad fraud prevention by Google AdMob).
- Usage analytics: aggregate, non-personal usage statistics to help us improve the App (collected via Google Play Services and Firebase Analytics if enabled).
- Crash reports: automatic crash logs to identify and fix bugs.
1.3 Permissions Requested
- INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: required for displaying ads (Google AdMob) and for Google Drive backup.
- READ_CONTACTS: optional - to let you import customer phone numbers from your contact list into Khata. No contacts are uploaded.
- WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: for exporting billing/entry reports as files on older Android versions.
- VIBRATE: for haptic feedback on button presses.
- com.android.vending.BILLING: for in-app purchases (premium features, if available).
- AD_ID: for serving relevant ads via Google AdMob.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain the App's core features (note counting, calculator, billing, khata book).
- To display advertisements through Google AdMob (this is how we keep the App free to use).
- To offer optional Google Drive backup/restore so you don't lose your data when changing devices.
- To improve App performance, fix bugs, and develop new features based on aggregated usage patterns.
- To respond to your support requests and feedback.
- To comply with applicable laws and regulations.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Google AdMob: displays ads in the App. AdMob may use device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads. See Google AdMob Privacy Policy.
- Google Drive: if you opt-in to cloud backup, your data is stored in your own Google Drive account. We do not have access to it.
- Google Play Billing: processes any in-app purchases securely through Google Play.
- Legal compliance: if required by law, court order, or government request, we may disclose information to the relevant authorities.
4. Data Storage and Security
All user-entered data (entries, customers, billing records, settings) is stored locally on your device. We use Android's secure storage mechanisms to protect this data from unauthorized access by other apps.
If you enable Google Drive backup, your data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in your Google Drive account, protected by your Google account credentials.
While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Retention
- Local data: remains on your device until you uninstall the App or manually delete it.
- Google Drive backup: remains until you delete it from your Google Drive.
- Analytics data: retained for up to 14 months in aggregated, anonymized form.
6. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: view all your data within the App at any time.
- Export: use the in-app export feature to download your entries and reports.
- Delete: delete individual entries, customers, or all data via App settings, or by uninstalling the App.
- Backup control: enable or disable Google Drive backup at any time from App settings.
- Opt-out of ads: you can purchase the premium version (if available) to remove ads.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for general use, including business and personal finance management. It is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
